Review by hotel critic
Rathan House provides a unique blend of comfort and a culinary experience that is hard to overlook. Upon my arrival, Ewan, the warm-hearted host, welcomed me and shared intriguing insights about the local history. Breakfasts are a highlight-authentic Hebridean offerings served in a charming 1920s dining room adorned with 19th-century portraits, setting the scene for a cozy meal. Each morning, I savored a hearty breakfast at 8:45 a.m., which not only filled my plate but also my heart with a sense of connection, as I shared the grand table with fellow travelers, including a delightful German father and daughter. The conversations around the table added a personal touch, making it feel like family. With a serene garden to retreat to after a day's exploration, the venue truly serves as a restful haven for both body and spirit. I cherish the moments spent here and look forward to my next visit. If you are searching for a culinary escape blended with rich hospitality, Rathan House is certainly a noteworthy destination.
